The Modular Cabin — How Living in a Trailer on Our Farmhouse Brought Us a New Way of Living
Share
During the renovation of our farmhouse, we spent 14 months living in a trailer on the property. We both look back on that time with many happy memories.
It was this cosy camping feeling — close to nature, the open space around us, the birdsong — combined with the tightness of the housing market, that sparked the idea in Bobbejaan's mind for the modular cabin.
A modular cabin that is easy to assemble, built with the right materials — wood and steel wherever possible — and that can move with you or be relocated wherever needed.
In 2024, Bobbejaan developed a scale model and shared it on his Instagram account. A friend saw the potential and wanted a modular cabin on the grounds of his new home — a place for him and his partner to stay during the renovation of their house.

The possibilities are endless: it can serve as a care home annex for a loved one, provide housing for young people who cannot access the property market, be rented out on nature campsites, or function as a small studio or office — a space to create or to work.

We currently have two small ones available for rental — we love sharing our grounds with nature enthusiasts. The cabin can be fully customised to your wishes and fits beautifully within the tiny house movement.
