The Survivor — Chair

A chair with a history — and a solution to match.

The Survivor was originally designed by Copray & Scholten in 1998. In 2020, Bob Copray restored it — replacing a broken leg with a hand-painted steel prosthetic. Part of our One of a Kind collection. There is only one.

Seat: wood. Prosthetic leg: steel, hand-painted.

About the restoration

Rather than discarding a damaged chair, Bob Copray gave it a second life. The steel prosthetic leg is as much a part of the design as the original — a testament to resilience and creative problem-solving.
